Program Description

The AAMA Assessment-Based Certificate Program in Practice Management is a microcredential that provides comprehensive education in three key topics:

  • Leadership, management, and employee engagement
  • Medical practice management structure
  • Quality management and improvement

This program will expand and advance your knowledge of essential aspects of practice management, including how to lead and manage employees, understand practice structure, and measure and provide quality health care.


Program Overview

Note: To earn the certificate, learners must successfully complete all three courses and the final assessment.
  • Course 1: Leadership, Management, and Employee Engagement
    Gain foundational information on how to lead, manage, communicate with, and engage employees.
  • Course 2: Medical Practice Management Structure
    Gain a deeper understanding of management-level organizational structures in a medical practice, including the roles and responsibilities of practice managers.
  • Course 3: Quality Management and Improvement
    Examine foundational concepts in quality improvement, performance measurement, benchmarking, and the role of data in these processes. Review value-based health care and risk management in the medical practice.


Additional Information

  • A practice exam is included for each course.
  • The final assessment must be passed with a score of 70% or higher in order to earn the CEU credit.
  • This is a closed-book test, with no option for going back into the course once the test has been started.

Retake Information
One retake on the final assessment is allowed. Participants must wait a minimum of seven days from a failing score to retake the final assessment.
CEU Offered

This certificate program has been approved for 8.5 CEUs A/G.

The time allotted for completion of the certificate program is 30 days.
