The Population Health Module, a collection of six courses, provides education on six key topics:

• Population health
• Behavioral health
• Care management programs
• Health coaching
• Patient navigation
• Motivational interviewing

Learners will gain insight into how they can contribute to improving health outcomes for patients in their community.

The Population Health Module is the first installment of continuing education materials released by the Career Professional Development Committee of the AAMA that aims to enhance medical assistants’ and other allied health professionals’ skills and assist medical assistants in advancing their career outlook and growing into new and emerging roles in the health care delivery system.

All six courses and a final assessment test must be completed to earn the Population Health Module digital badge:

2. The Impact of Behavioral Health on Population Health
3. Creating Care Management Programs
4. The Expanding Field of Health Coaching: An Ideal Role for Credentialed Medical Assistants
5. Patient Navigators: An Ideal Role for Credentialed Medical Assistants
6. Motivational Interviewing: Understanding the How, What, When, and Why

The Population Health Module has been approved for 11 CEUs (gen/adm/clin).
