Identifying and Responding to Human Trafficking: The Medical Assistant’s Role is a comprehensive course that explores the scope of human trafficking, who is most at risk, and how medical assistants can identify red flags and respond appropriately and safely.

Through in-depth modules, learners will gain practical knowledge and skills related to:

  • Recognizing indicators of human trafficking
  • Effective and trauma-informed communication strategies
  • Laws related to human trafficking, reporting, and privacy
  • Appropriate documentation protocols
  • Collaboration with health care teams and local agencies
  • Managing secondary trauma and supporting personal well-being

This course equips medical assistants with hands-on strategies to support their patients, their practices, and themselves in the fight against human trafficking.

Learners will have 50 days from starting the course to complete and pass the posttest.
