Course Description: Assessment-Based Certificate Program in Pediatrics (2023)

The AAMA Assessment-Based Certificate in Pediatrics program provides comprehensive education in four key topics:

  • Well-child care
  • Newborn care
  • Common childhood illnesses, conditions, and injuries
  • Psychological aspects of pediatric care

This program will expand and advance your knowledge and understanding of these important aspects of—and medical assistants’ role within—pediatric care.

All the following four courses, and a final assessment, must be completed to earn the certificate:
Course 1: Well-Child Care
Course 2: Newborn Care
Course 3: Common Childhood Illnesses, Conditions, and Injuries
Course 4: Psychological Aspects of Pediatric Care

A practice exam is included for each course. The final assessment must be passed with a score of 70% or higher in order to earn the CEU credit. The final assessment is timed, allowing users 120 minutes to complete the test. This is a closed-book test, with no option for going back into the course once the test has been started.

Two retakes on the final assessment are allowed. Participants must wait a minimum of 14 days from a failing score to retake the final assessment.

This certificate program has been approved for 16 CEUs G/A/C.

The time allotted for completion of the Certificate Program is 90 days.

Certificate Program for members - $320
Certificate Program for nonmembers - $480
